Susan Fairgray MSc Economic Geography

Associate Director

Susan has 10 years’ experience working in the field of urban economics and has recently joined M.E after working at Auckland Council. She has sound analytical skills, a strong research focus, and an in-depth understanding and knowledge of the Auckland spatial economy. She has significant experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis, spatial analysis (GIS) and economic research methods and interpretation, which she has applied to inform and support Auckland policy and evaluation, including the preparation and presentation of evidence within the Auckland Unitary Plan hearings setting.


Susan’s policy/project experience has covered major commercial, industrial and residential sectors, and key infrastructure, focusing on the Auckland Region. She has specialised in retail analysis and the effect of retail on urban form. Susan has experience in leading analysis, preparing and presenting evidence and expert conferencing, and in initiating core research.
